Modric ready for El Classico

The intense work done on the training pitch by Luka Modric is about to bear fruit, his recovery quicker than initially planned with Real Madrid feeling like they'll have a new signing on the pitch against Leganes on November 6.
The idea is for the midfielder to be at 100% by the Madrid derby on November 19, and all signs currently point to that being the case.
In Madrid they are certainly excited about the player's imminent return and there doesn't appear to be any concern that this will be before, rather than after, the international break.
Recovery times for injuries are always an estimate in any event, so if Modric is fine, he will play as soon as practicable, there's little point in delaying things until after Croatia's game against Iceland.
Modric had surgery last October 2 and although in principle a month was suggested as the amount of time out, prudence was required to keep to such a margin.
That's why derby at the Estadio Vicente Calderon was penciled in as the most appropriate date for his comeback.
Since the operation however, the process of recovery has been helped by the key role of the physical and the mental therapists at the club.
There were those who argued for conservative treatment but the wishes of the medical services team at Real finally prevailed.
As a result, they'll shortly have a player back in their ranks who is as good as new.
